After the conversion of his 40 ha farm to organic farming, Max Bannaski intensively dealt with the above mentioned keywords. He did not want to give in to the general trend in agriculture with heavier, larger and more energy-intensive machines. He felt that this way was not the right one for him, exactly against the trend: he exchanged his large tractors for smaller and much lighter ones. The condition for this was not to lose effectiveness, but to actually increase it. However, this was not possible with the grassland implements offered on the agricultural machinery market in the way Max Bannaski imagined. His ambition and clear ideas were the base for the development of machines for the sustainable management of grassland according to the motto:
With minimum energy input to maximum ecological and economic efficiency.

Our History

The company BB – Umwelttechnik is a young company, which was founded as a result of the demand for machines, which the founder Max Bannaski originally constructed only for his own agricultural business.
Because the agricultural machinery sector had nothing suitable to offer, Max Bannaski, master machine engineer and farmer, designed and built his first machine, at that time a bale wrapper, in 2005. When at some point on the farm the investment of a rake was due, the time had come again. No manufacturer was able to meet the requirements (front rake, low self-weight, approx. 5 metres working width, easy to pull and gentle on forage). Fascinated by the principle of the old comb rake, which was widely used in the 1950s, he designed his first rake. This rake is still in use on the farm for harvesting to this day.
The system appealed to him, the surroundings were curious and so it did not take long until the first concrete enquiry for the construction of such a rake, then already with a working width of eight metres, was made.
After the rake, Max Bannaski turned his attention to mowers. Double blade mowers offered him enormous advantages: Low self-weight, careful to the forage, power requirement approx. 25% of a rotary mower, absolutely careful to amphibians and insects, significantly better growth behaviour after mowing and high performance. So the step was not far to construct a well thought out and functional double blade mower.
Right from the start, he relied on a modular system for both the rakes and the double-blade mowers, which makes it easy to exchange or extend. Meanwhile there is a wide product range which is constantly being expanded.
